Palette Studio
A downloadable tool for Windows
Color is what makes pixel art feel alive. Getting it right shouldn't take hours.
Building a cohesive palette from scratch is one of the hardest parts of pixel art. You pick colors, they clash. You import a reference image, you spend time manually sampling it. Then you want to recolor a whole sprite and realize you're doing it swatch by swatch.
Palette Studio fixes that.
Extract palettes from any image Drop in any PNG and it extracts the N dominant colors 4, 8, 16, whatever you need. Great for pulling a palette directly from a reference image, a screenshot, or a screenshot of another pixel artist's work you admire.
One-click recolor Give it your sprite and your palette, and it remaps every color in the image to the nearest palette color. Floyd–Steinberg dithering option for smoother transitions. See the result before you export.
Export everywhere .gpl (GIMP / Aseprite), raw HEX list, swatch PNG, whatever format your pipeline needs.
Free / pay what you want If it saves you time (and it will), consider throwing a few dollars Guillaume Lessard's way. He'd appreciate it.
