Asset Batch Forge
A downloadable tool for Windows
The most boring part of shipping a game shouldn't take the longest.
You have 200 sprite files. They need to be trimmed of transparent borders, resized to 64×64, flipped horizontally for left-facing variants, padded to 70×70, converted from PNG to WebP, and renamed with a "item_" prefix and a three-digit number. Doing that by hand is an hour of your life you'll never get back.
Asset Batch Forge automates the whole pipeline in one pass.
Ordered multi-step pipeline Configure the operations in the order that makes sense:
- Trim — remove transparent borders
- Resize — scale to a target width/height (or longest-edge)
- Flip / Rotate — horizontal, vertical, 90° rotations
- Pad — add transparent border to force consistent dimensions
- Reduce Colors — quantize to N colors (for retro aesthetic)
- Convert — PNG → JPG / WebP / BMP
- Rename — add prefix, suffix, zero-padded numbering
Each step is optional. You pick the pipeline you need and it runs in order.
Batch across folders Process a single file, all files in a folder, or all files in a folder and all its subfolders. 10 files or 10,000, same workflow.
Use it for
- Sprite sheet cleanup and export
- Preparing assets for multiple engine targets
- Retro-style color quantization
- Generating left/right variants from a single sprite set
- Standardizing icon and UI asset sizes
The pipeline tool that ties the suite together Sprite Atlas Packer needs clean, right-sized input. Tileset Slicer needs consistent tile dimensions. Asset Batch Forge is what preps your art for both of them and everything else in your pipeline.
